Munster Community Pool - 8837 Calumet Avenue
The Munster Police Department and Choice Community Council invite and encourage all residents to participate in Munster's 24th Annual National Night Out Against Crime Celebration on Tuesday, August 6th from 5:00pm to 9:00pm at the Munster Community Pool. The event is held to promote police and community partnerships through a variety of both fun and educational activities for all ages. This year's event will include free swimming for Munster residents, door prizes, kids games, bounce houses, emergency vehicle displays, a meet and greet with former White Sox slugger RON KITTLE (pictured below), K-9 demonstrations, special music performances, Citizenship Award presentations, costumed characters, free child identification cards, free glow necklaces for kids, an American Red Cross blood drive, approximately 100 booth participants to visit, food, and an awesome closing FIREWORKS DISPLAY sponsored by Krazy Kaplan's Fireworks.
The celebration will be preceded this year by a National Night Out Parade which will begin at 4:30pm (and run from the 8600-8800 blocks of Columbia Avenue). Residents are encouraged to come out to cheer on our police, fire, and emergency medical services personnel in addition to school and community groups and costumed characters that will also be participating in the parade. Participants can then follow the parade to the big event at the Munster Community Pool!
More details and attractions will be announced as the date approaches. For more information about this year's event, please contact Officer James Ghrist at 219-836-6639 or jghrist@munster.org. We hope to see you there!
