Free Basic Security Inspections Available
Officer James Ghrist, Crime Prevention Officer for the Munster Police Department, is available to conduct basic security surveys for Munster residents or businesses. The survey process is simple:
Call Officer Ghrist at 836-6639 to set up an appointment.
He will come to your home or business on the scheduled date and time and take a walk around the premises looking for items of importance.
He may then ask questions of residents or staff regarding camera systems, alarm systems, or other necessary items.
He will make himself available to answer questions from staff members or household residents regarding various safety issues.
Officer Ghrist will return to the station where an easy-to-read, organized report will be produced that details areas of strength and concern in regards to the security of your home or business. The report will also contain suggestions and a summary of items that were discussed with the homeowners or staff members present at the time of the report.
This service is FREE to Munster residents and businesses and takes approximately one hour or less to complete. Please note that this is a basic security survey only and merely suggests items that could possibly help make your home or business a safer place. The survey also helps to raise awareness concerning safety items that the resident or business owner might not be aware of. The survey is not guaranteed to prevent crimes from occurring at your residence or place of business.
